About

Located in Northeastern Minnesota’s Carlton County, the Esko Historical Society operates an open-air museum, including original and reproduction buildings from the late 19th century. Our collections encompass all areas of life for the community’s residents over the last 150 years. We maintain an archive of documents and photos, which can be made available for research purposes. The Society has published two books, Esko’s Corner, a general history of the community, and Thomson Township’s Night of Terror, pertaining to the October 1918 fire that swept through the region.

The museum is located next to the Esko Post Office, and is open to free tours during the summer or by appointment. We hope you will visit us soon!
